About Kieran

Kieran Vaughan is known for her calm, warm, skilled and non-judgemental counselling style, so you can openly discuss issues and feel truly heard. She can help you to build a greater understanding of problems, explore solutions and gain insights. Kieran draws upon her knowledge of neuroscience, trauma and developmental issues.

Kieran’s approach is adaptable to suit your needs and situation. For example, couples counselling may include approaches which focus on couple and family systems, whereas children’s counselling may include fun and humour, movement or creative arts.

Kieran Vaughan has raised her four children in Canberra, and she grew up in a large family, and her counselling skills have been informed by that experience.

Kieran created Full Potential Counselling to assist people in developing the confidence and skills needed to live to their full potential.

Full Potential provides

The practice is located in beautiful tree-lined Ainslie, Canberra.


Kieran provides general counselling for people of any age and background. Topics for support vary depending on individual requirements, but may include

Counselling is typically provided in person at the Full Potential practice in the lovely suburb of Ainslie.

If necessary, counselling by phone or internet (such as through Zoom, Skype or Facetime) is also available. To discuss this option please contact us.

School or education can bring up many challenges in learning, including being a part of groups and relating to others. Counselling for Learning can help you understand what’s going on for you and ways to work through your challenges. Kieran has a knack for making challenging academic tasks more simple, and to help build confidence with learning and relationships in the school setting. Kieran is particularly skilled at breaking down barriers to learning maths.

Over the past 30 years Kieran has provided support and assistance to people of all ages and backgrounds in

She also taught Welfare and Community Development courses at CIT. Kieran spent several years as a volunteer telephone counsellor and group trainer for the Canberra Lifeline and Youthline, then later worked on consistent, quality crisis support service across the Lifeline centres of Australia for Lifeline Australia.

Kieran holds a Master of Counselling, a Graduate Diploma in Community Counselling, Certificates 4 in Community Mediation and in Workplace Assessment and Training, a Diploma in Project Management and a Bachelor of Arts (BA). She is currently studying for a certificate in Initiatic Art Therapy.

Kieran is registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
